Description

This 1 day (Refresher) Train the Trainer Basic Life Support Course is for those who have previously completed the full 2-day Train the Trainer course. It covers the topic element and supports delegates to refresh, validate and learn something new in relation to the training element based on their previous experiences.

The course covers, refreshes knowledge skills and understanding of the:

  • Primary and Secondary surveys
  • Communications and casualty care
  • Choking (adults)
  • Legislative requirements and adherence to company policy
  • Resuscitation (adult CPR)
  • The requirements to follow Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (DNAR) orders
  • Conscious and unconscious casualty and their treatment
  • Use of AED’s.
  • Reflect on the importance of timely and accurate recording and reporting processes and the use of appropriate documentation including adherence to confidentiality requirements under GDPR

Train the Trainer Elements

  • Reflect on how to encourage delegates to effectively learn, retain and apply the topic -based information so that delegates feel confident and empowered.
  • Review and refresh knowledge and understanding of the variety of learning styles and their applications
  • Review the inclusion of literacy and numeracy into the topic content at level 2 and ways to better embed these requirements.
  • Reflect on the current practices of assessment and evaluation to enhance ways to ensure delivery meets delegate needs and that its impactful and effective against outcomes
  • Build and enhance Trainers own skills through CPD activities

Handouts

Delegates will be provided with key pieces of information and asked to take notes so as to encourage and enable them to modify/create their own bespoke session based on their audience needs and learning styles. They will be supported throughout the session to do this.

Assessment

Each delegate will complete a competence assessment during the session. Anyone requesting the competence assessment to be completed outside of the course booking dates will be charged £49.00.

On successful completion of the assessment, the certificate will be issued. Dates for the assessment are on a mutually agreed basis. 

Course Validation

All Train the Trainer course certificates are valid for two years, and it is recommended that delegates complete one day refresher before the end of the validation.
